Read on to learn about some of the best golf courses in the area, all of which happen to be conveniently located near our Lido Key rentals.
Rolling Green Golf Club
When golfing in Lido Key, stop by the Rolling Green Golf Club. You can have the time of your life here, playing 9-hole course games while sipping a cool beer with your friends. Play all day for a surprisingly affordable rate, which includes a golf cart rental and even lunch! It just goes to show that you don’t have to break the bank to have a great time out on the golf course.
Tee times typically start at around 6 a.m. and go on throughout the day until around 6 p.m. (technically just before sunset hits). If you’d like to take on a full 18-hole course instead of a 9-hole, then it’s only $89 for two players, and you can play all day (even repeat the course as well). It comes with lunch for two and a couple of beers as well.
The Highlands
Lido Key golfing is the best it can be with places like The Highlands (open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily), which you’ll find right on 3400 Longmeadow Street. The cool thing about their golf carts is that they’re entirely GPS-enabled, and they can show you, right on-screen, how to navigate the golf course, with a touch screen, voice controls, and more. Few golf courses around can do this to the effect that they can, as the Highlands specializes in such a quality experience. The Highlands also distinguishes itself as one of the best-kept course spots around, with hardly any noticeable “bare” green spots at all.
Indeed, the greens are immaculately fresh from top to bottom. You’ll find the tee boxes nice and even, too, and well-spread throughout the course. It all adds to the aesthetic appeal. You can play with up to four players (including yourself) on 9-hole or 18-hole greens. Depending on the day and season, tee times can start as early as 5 a.m. and run as late as 7 p.m. here. The Highlands are considered one of the region’s premier golf courses. Come out and see if you agree!
Serenoa Golf Club
For top-class golfing near Lido Key, no one matches Serenoa Golf Club (open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily), a top-rated golf spot that specializes in walk-in golf, full-scale local tournaments, weddings, banquet events, outings and more.
Calling themselves “Sarasota’s most unique golf course,” this golf club offers a fun yet challenging experience for golfers of all skill levels. You’ll enjoy beautiful water views and tricky shots throughout the course. This golf course has gone through extensive renovations over the years to ensure that your golfing experience is as satisfying as can be. Be sure to stop by the Serenoa Grill for lunch before or after your tee time!
The Platinum Program annual membership is one of the best ways to enjoy the course all year if you plan to be in the area for a while or return more than once. Purchase a membership for a single person or a family. With it, you get year-round $1 pricing on all draft beer as well as $5 pricing on lunch, not to mention 14-day advance tee times as an added perk. Plus, this membership even comes with its very own member-only events as well as an automatic admission into the exclusive Summer Reciprocal Golf Program. Plus, you get unlimited use of the course and facilities all year long!
Tatum Ridge
Tatum Ridge has one full 18-hole course with blue, white, gold, and red balls & putts (allowing up to four varied-color players per game). It’s been around since the early 1990s and adapted many beautiful changes to its scenery, its water areas, its overall green, and even its friendly service staff since then. It currently spans 504 yards and was initially designed by expert Ted McAnlis.
Tatum Ridge offers so much more than your everyday golf course. In addition to the course itself, you’ll find a world-class Golf Shop with friendly and helpful staff, a snack bar with all your favorite temptations, and even a phone on the ninth tee so you can order some grub to get you through the remaining holes. The best way to make the most use of this spot is to get the annual membership for you and your partner, especially if you’re planning a long-term stay. The pass is valid from early October to late September. This place operates during the same days and hours, conveniently; their tee times more or less range every week. Call in advance to reserve your spot or go online to book.
